Tips for Parents of Piano Students:
1. Be an audience for your child at least once a week. 2. Praise and encourage (ie Keep up the good work!) 3. If your child is losing interest, with a young child, a new bookcase or a new book of tunes he/she would enjoy (at the level of his/her ability), or some musical novelty item will add spark. With all ages, choosing to take your child to a concert ( or watching a video) which features a piano player may be the exciting stimulus needed. 4. Learning to play duets is fun; With the teacher’s help, find a suitable musical partner. 5. Daily practice is a must. Start with a short time for beginners and increase as the level of assignments increase.
